MEET MANY PEOPLE WHO SHARE YOUR INTEREST IN THE PARANORMAL ON THE DGHC ONLINE FORUM
PROTOCOLS USED BY THE DGHC THAT WERE DEVELOPED BY THE IGHS AND ARE USED BY MANY GHOST HUNTER GROUPS FROM AROUND THE US AND THE WORLD. THESE WORK. IF YOU FOLLOW THESE SIMPLE STEPS YOU CAN BE A SUCCESSFUL GHOST HUNTER.
  • Ask the spirits of the dead for permission to take their photos or to record their voices.
  • Respect posted property, ask permission, and do not trespass.
  • Always conduct your investigations in a professional manner.
  • Show reverence and respect in cemeteries, battlefields, historic sites, etc.
  • No running or horse play in cemeteries or historical sites.
  • Positive Mental Attitude is very important for all investigations
  • Skeptical minds will generate negative energy during an investigation. Do not bring along skeptics or those who are negative or want proof that ghosts exist.
  • Follow the lunar cycles and solar storms for conducting investigations for best results. Paranormal events occur during peak geomagnetic field conditions.

     

  • Do not take photographs during adverse weather conditions, such as rain, mist, fog, snow, windy, or dusty conditions.
  • Remove or wear the camera strap so it does not hang loose.
  • Take photos of dust particles, pollen, moisture droplets to see how your camera records these kinds of orbs.
  • An orb is not special or unique. An orb is only a description of shape. Most common orbs are airborne dust particles. Multiple orbs in photos are almost always dust particles, never spirits.
  • Do not take photos from moving vehicles on dusty roads.
  • Do not take photos while walking on dusty roads.
  • Remove all dust, spots, and fingerprints from camera lens.
  • Remove or wear the camera strap so it does not hang loose.
  • Avoid shooting into the Sun for resulting lens flare.
  • Avoid shooting with flash at reflective or shinny surfaces.
  • Keep fingers away from the lens of the camera.
  • Keep long hair away from the lens of the camera.
  • Avoid shooting when foreign objects are floating near camera.
  • Compare anomalous prints with negatives for confirmation.
  • Flash is only good for 9-12 feet from camera so focus on that range.
  • Always use fresh audio tapes for tape recordings.
  • If digital, record in one or two minute tracks.
  • After twenty minutes, the spirits will get bored, no need to record longer in one area.
  • Do not rub the side of the recorder while recording nor walk while recording. Stand still to record.
  • We do not consider Ouija boards valid investigation tools
  • No smoking, drugs or drinking during an investigation or you will be asked to leave and be removed from the group
  • If someone is angry, they should not be involved with an investigation. They will draw angry spirits and the other spirits will avoid them.

Headstone symbols and their meanings to the living as well as the dead
 
Did you ever wonder what the Headstone symbols mean when you are out ghost hunting? I just been reading an article on it and it was amazing the meanings that these symbols hold. It can also tell us about the person who is buried to give us an insight as to what questions we may want to ask when we are collecting our evp. Are we talking to a child or an Adult if for instance we cannot read the date on the Headstone due to time and the elements having erased what was once written in stone? Well here are a few of the many common symbols we see in a cemetery and a brief definition of what they mean.

 

 

Anchor:In a time when christen gatherings were outlawed and people feared for their lives if caught the Anchor was used as disguised cross and as a marker to guide others to the meeting place. Also a person may have served in the Navy.

Angles: They work for god and are the guardians of the dead, symbolizing spirituality

Books: The person buried in the grave was a living book before they pasted away.

Butterfly:The soul, in some religions it can be the 3 stages of Christ resurrection. Or it represents the 3 stages of life of the butterfly from larva to caterpillar and the butterfly.

Candles: Represent spirits or souls. 

 

Chains: It was believed that a golden chain bound the soul to the body, a broken link in the chain represents the soul had broken free of the body.

Chalice: The Holy Grail or the cup that was drunk from at the last supper. 

 

Cross: A christen symbol that represents faith, hope and charity. Aztecs looked at it as the symbol for the God of rain.

Daisy: Innocent child.

Dogs: Dogs were scene at the feet of Medieval Women to represent their loyalty. Or the person who is buried loved dogs

Dogwood: Resurrection of Christ.

Dove: Piece  

 

Dragon: In the Chinese culture it represents Imperial Power or the Universe itself.

Heart: Love

Holly: Protected monuments from lightning strikes.

Lamb: A child is buried there.

Lily: Chastity, innocence and purity. 

 

Lion: Guards the tomb against evil spirits.

Marigold: Is believed to form a trail for which the dead can follow to get to a home alter where items they enjoyed in the living cannot be obtained in the after life.

Oak Tree: The tree of life.

Wheat: Symbol of rebirth.

So the next time you are out ghost hunting you can have a better idea of what you are looking at.

Elizabeth Town Hall Investigation Results (2)

This was our second visit to the Elizabeth Town Hall Investigation which was exciting and as always we got great results as the first time.  We would like to think the Mayor of Elizabeth, his staff and the town’s people for welcoming us with open arms; we had some town’s people along with local law enforcement along with us for the investigation.  They were very excited about the equipment we were using and our investigation techniques, which again as I said got great results.

REULTS OF THE INVESTIGATION

     a)  Multiple photos of spirit orbs, ecto and supercharged orbs in    motion leaving a contrail.

     c)   Ambient Room Temp 67 degrees which immediately dropped to 62 degrees while being pointed at a toy car which was placed on the table for the spirits to move.

Well we arrived as always in good spirits, excitement and an open mind.  Once the equipment was set up and tested we went to lights out.  Everyone got to gather and begin the investigation. We started with taking photos and conducing evp recordings.  We started off with only a few hits of paranormal activity in the beginning.  As the spirits got to know us and our intentions, they became more active.  Shanna and Dusten got great photos in the Sterilization Room and Evps in the Piano Room.  Tracy while working outside the building got great Evps and felt the presence of more than one spirit following her out side.  We then met up with some members of the Elizabeth Community and Local Law Enforcement who wanted to see us work; they were impressed with what they saw.

We then took turns manning the control center; you can stare at monitors for so long until you start seeing spirits everywhere.  We then moved down into the conference room and placed several toys in the room.  We also had laptops set up along with our other equipment which allowed us to download and evaluated Evps on the spot, so we new we had some action going on.  We pointed cameras at the toy car and laser thermometers to check for a temp drop, which happened, we dropped from 67 down to 62 with in a few seconds, we were also getting great photos of supercharged orbs in motion leaving a contrail.  Later on in the evening we analyzed the evps and got great voices (which are posted on EVP page of the website).

We then took a small break to refresh and then continued the investigation to the wee hours of the morning.

We would also again like to think the Mayor and his staff (who also got some great Evps on their own) for welcoming us back with open arms and trust which was bestowed upon us by giving us free range in the Town Hall.  We would also like to think the APSO for sticking around to watch over us while we conducted our investigation. 

We will be returning to present a power point presentation to the Community and the Town Council.

I would like to personally think my team which is one of the best Ghost Hunting Groups in the State and we are growing everyday.  I would also like to think Dr. Dave and Sharon Oester for their continued support and research into proper Ghost Hunting Techniques used by our group and others around the world.  We would like to think A1 designs for sponsoring us with our new 2007 T-shirt series and other DGHC related items.  We could not do this without the support of others in the Beauregard, Allen and Vernon Parish Communities.

DeRidder - Pleasant Hill   Cemetery - A Little boy at the age of 3 and His mother were killed in a house fire. They are buried at the Pleasant Hill   Cemetery . There names were Marie and Freddie Kruger. Sometimes if you go out there at night and stand at the fence you can see an orange flame above his grave. Thats the urban legend of it.
 Truth:Ive hunted Pleasant Hill   Cemetery for over 4 years now and have never seen anything like that happen at that grave site; Ive had the cemetery under surveillance from video cameras and have never scene fire coming off the grave. In fact they did not die at the same time in a house fire. Look at the dates on the head stones, they are as follows:

Son:

Fred N. Kruger (not E) like in the movie

Born: July 12, 1952

movies came out well it really got crazy then. In fact it got so bad that they removed the picture of the boy from the head stone due to people trying to take it.  Not only is that steeling that is also very disrespectful to the living as well as the dead.  Now comes the other part of the legend flames off the grave. Also you will notice the got the mothers name wrong also.  Also did you notice they even got the names wrong its not Marie but Mary

Part 2 of the urban legend is that flames are supposed to come off the grave site. As well as being a ghost hunter my real job is a firefighter/emt I cannot ever remember anyone getting a call about flames coming off a tombstone. Now I dont know about you but if I responded and saw flames shooting off a headstone, well I would turn my self around and head back out with the quickness. Again this can be explained by normal occurrences.  If you will notice now in most cemeteries, there are now solar lights being placed around grave sites. Not too far in the distance from the infamous Kruger grave site is two orange solar lights and at night the do set off a glow which is reflected in all the headstones in the area. Also you have street lights which boarder that part of the cemetery and they can also set off a refection that appears to make a headstone glow at night.

 

A while back I submitted my findings to an Urban Legend Web site and guess what, they never wrote me back. Also we are now well known in our community and in 3 other parishes for our work, why had no witness come forth to talk with us about there experiences?

 

In conclusion Pleasant Hill is one of the most active cemeteries in the area, I have never failed to obtain reading from it whenever Ive conducted investigations over the years, I have even brought in skeptics who have gotten results simply following IGHS protocols and now they are believers now.  Remember as Professional Paranormal Investigators we have to eliminate the natural and then what is left is the unnatural.  It is always good to do research into a subject before you put it out there.
